The OnPlan Strategy module is a tool to automatically create PM Tasks and Inspection Documents from lists of detailed preventative maintenance tasks or Failure Mode, Effects and Criticality models.
A simple example of a FMECA model for an Air Conditioning system is shown below. In this example there are six lines that identify Preventative Tasks of a certain Task Type to be performed at a given Frequency (Task Interval).
To ensure maintenance and inspections are performed correctly, the Preventative Tasks can be grouped into inspection documents that are used by Technicians to perform inspections.
In the example above, there are tasks to be performed at 250, 1000 and 2000 hours. OnPlan will group these tasks into three documents, by task Frequency.
Strategy Task | Preventative Tasks included in the Inspection |
250 Hour Inspection |
|
1000 Hour Inspection |
|
2000 Hour Inspection |
|
Notice how the tasks are cumulative. The tasks from the 250 hour inspection are included on the 1000 hour inspection and the tasks from the 1000 hour inspection are included on the 2000 hour inspection.
Other sorting and grouping options are available in the Strategy Module to match user requirements.
The inspection documents that are created through this process are passed to the OnPlan Builder.
Additional Content
Additional content such as images, hazards and controls, limits, tables etc. can be added to complete the document. Further, additional Operations such as job preparation or safety information can be added into the Inspection Document to form a complete instruction.
Link Between Strategy and Documents
The inspection documents create a link between the preventative task and the step in the inspection document. This way, the Strategy and the resulting Inspection document are kept in sync.
Changes to the Strategy can be made and inspection documents re-generated at any time, while still maintaining the additional content added in the OnPlan Builder.
