Opening the Inspection Document

Clicking on the PM Task will open the OnPlan Builder. As can be seen in the diagram below, the Operations and Steps that have been created from preventative tasks are denoted by a blue PM label.

Operations

The Operating Titles have come from the Task Grouping selected in the Generating PM Tasks (Inspection Documents) menu. The Operation Title can be changed if needed. Details on how do this can be found in Create a new Operation.

Additional operations can be added to complete the work instruction. The diagram below shows the Job Authorisation Operation added to the Work Instruction.

Steps

The Steps are from the preventative maintenance task details column. The initial step instruction text is copied from the preventative task details. A reminder of this original text is shown in blue at the top of the step instruction. The instruction text can be edited as required.

Images, limits, hazards and other advice can be added to the step. If the PM Task is re-generated, this information is maintained against the step.

Additional steps can also be added into the Operation.

More information about working with Steps can be found in the article Adding Job Steps to Operations.

Note: If the preventative task linked to the step is deleted, any changes to the task step are also deleted.

Deleting Steps

Steps created from preventative tasks cannot be deleted in the OnPlan Builder. They can only be deleted in the PM Task Editor. This is done to maintain the integrity of the asset strategy back to the FCA. If the preventative task linked to the step is deleted, any changes to the task step are also deleted.
